Our Beliefs

In a nutshell, we are an Independent Baptist church, standing upon the Bible as our final authority. We use the King James Bible for all our services, classes, and evangelism. Our music is conservative. We believe that all people matter to God because He loves everyone, which is shown by Christ dying for us while we were yet sinners.

The Bible...We believe the Scriptures are inerrant, infallible, and God-breathed. The Bible is historically and scientifically accurate, and is a guide for life for any who will read and use it for daily living. We hold that both the Old Testament and New Testament are divinely inspired of God, profitable for doctrine, reproof, correction, and for instruction in righteousness.

Jesus Christ...He is God in the flesh, born of a virgin, Who came to seek and to save that which is lost through His sacrifice upon the cross. He lived a perfect life, died, was buried, and arose after three days and three nights, and is alive today, seated at the right hand of God the Father.

Local Church...Houston Bible Baptist Church, as a New Testament church, is a local, visible, autonomous congregation of believers who assemble together in a given location with a common purpose. We do not subscribe to the "invisible church" error, which breeds confusion.

The Trinity...We believe in the Triune God: God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit. One God, three Persons.

Salvation...Salvation is a free gift offered by God to whosoever will accept it. Salvation is not earned by good works, but rather by the grace and mercy of a loving God Who is not willing that any should perish but have everlasting life.

Eternal Security...We believe in the eternal security of all believers. This everlasting relationship with God is purchased through the blood sacrifice of Jesus Christ and secures an incorruptible inheritance, reserved in Heaven for all who are genuine believers. The eternal salvation is not a license to sin.
